LIFEPAK 500 AED Accessories
Physio Control automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) have been saving lives for over 50 years and using the LIFEPAK 500 AED is a good choice. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) affects more than 400,000 American lives each year; many SCA victims die before help reaches them. Using AED brands and Physio Control LIFEPAK 500 AEDs can drastically lower these numbers. That is why we are trying to make sure that automated external defibrillators are available in schools, churches, offices, gyms, golf clubs; everywhere that the public gathers.
Physio Control LIFEPAK AED Cabinet
If you have made the Physio Control LIFEPAK 500 AED your AED unit of choice, AED brands wants you to know that we carry the LIFEPAK 500 AED accessories you need to make your AED program successful. The LIFEPAK AED Wall Mount Bracket and Standard AED Wall Cabinet are both designed to hold and display your AED unit safely and securely. The wall cabinet is constructed with sturdy metal and can be surface mounted, semi-recessed or fully recessed and can house any AED model. The LIFEPAK wall mount bracket can display the LIFEPAK 1000 or 500 AED. Adding an AED Wall Display Sign (flat, v-shaped, or flanged) or an AED Window Static Cling Decal next to your wall mounted AED will ensure that everyone can clearly see where the automated external defibrillator unit in your building is located.
LIFEPAK AED Case
If you cannot, or choose not to, have your AED wall mounted, AED brands also carries several AED carrying cases. The Physio Control Hard Shell Carry Case is waterproof and comes in bright yellow for easy visibility. The Large AED Protective Case is also waterproof and unbreakable. The Quicklook AED Portable Backpack is designed to hold an AED, plus first-aid equipment. It is available in red or black and has reflective piping for nighttime safety.
Physio Control LIFEPAK 500 Battery
Ensuring that your LIFEPAK 500 AED is ready to go in a sudden cardiac arrest emergency is vital. If the battery is dead, your victim may die too. The LIFEPAK 500 Lithium Battery never requires recharging and has a shelf life of 5 years if stored at the proper temperature. However, it is recommended that the battery be replaced every 3 years, unless the AED is used more than 312 times or is turned on for 14 hours. Conducting routine maintenance checks of the AED and its battery is recommended. AED brands carries AED Inspection Tags so that the routine inspections of your AED can be recorded. Maintaining your equipment can mean the difference between life and death when it comes to sudden cardiac arrest
Patient care after an SCA not only involves getting the victim to the hospital right away but also reviewing the procedures that took place during the emergency treatment. The LIFEPAK 500 USB Data Cable connects your LIFEPAK 500 AED to a computer USB port so that the data from the AED can be easily transferred to a computer and reviewed by medical personnel. Using the Physio Control LIFENET DT Express 3.0 software in conjunction with this data cable allows the download of the cardiac arrest data so that ECG, event logs, and test log reports can be reviewed. Knowing what transpired and how long it took for treatment can be vital in helping the patient’s doctor know how to further treat the patient.
LIFEPAK 500 AED Training
The success of any automated external defibrillator program is determined by how well the first responders are trained. AED brands carries the Physio Control LIFEPAK 500 AED training accessories you need. We have the Infant/Child Training Electrode Set, Infant/Child Training Pads, Physio Control Training Electrodes Set (for SCA victims older than 8 years of age), and the LIFEPAK 500 Trainer Electrode Pouch.
What is a Heart Attack?
AED brands wants to make sure that you know what sudden cardiac arrest is and how important early treatment can be. First and foremot, SCA is not a heart attack. A heart attack generally occurs when the arteries of the heart become blocked and the blood cannot make it into or out of the heart in an effective manner. Sometimes the artery or more than one artery become partially blocked, sometimes they become totally blocked. When this happens the heart, which is a muscle, begins to die. If left untreated, the victim can die. Heart attacks usually have warning signs though, such as pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach, chest discomfort (it can feel like pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the middle of the chest), shortness of breath, breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.
What is Cardiac Arrest?
Sudden cardiac arrest is not the same. SCA happens when the electrical activity of the heart is interrupted. The victim loses consciousness, collapses, and then stops breathing. If left untreated for longer than 3 – 5 minutes, brain damage and death can occur. For every minute that passes during an SCA, the chances that the victim will survive decreases by 10 percent. Sudden cardiac arrest is more deadly and can happen faster than a heart attack. Unlike most heart attacks sudden cardiac arrest does not discriminate when choosing its victims. Infants and children, teenagers and the elderly, or anyone in between can be affected. That’s why it’s important for schools, airports, churches and synagogues, all public places, to have an AED program and AED unit in place. An AED is the only way to restart an SCA victim’s heart and lower their chances of sudden cardiac death. Receiving a life-saving shock from an automated external defibrillator, less than 10 minutes after the SCA, is key to the victim’s survival.
AED brands wants to make sure that sudden cardiac arrest victims get the treatment they need as quickly as possible. That’s why making sure that you have the LIFEPAK 500 AED accessories you need to make your AED program successful is our number one goal.
