M5071A Philips HeartStart Onsite AED Cartridge Pads Q&A
- Indispensable- required for every AED
- Foolproof- straightforward protocol for use during an emergency
Electrode cartridge pads are an essential part of every effective AED. Without defibrillator pads, an AED cannot perform its primary function as a life-saving device during a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) emergency. Philips M5071a HeartStart Onsite Adult SMART AED pads are electrode pads designed to be used with the Philips HeartStart Onsite and Home AEDs.
Philips Onsite AED Pads are Foolproof
Philips HeartStart AED pads have adapters that snap into place, securing a well-fastened connection. The Philips onsite AED pads also come with a built-in handle that is able to be pulled off for quick access. The responder to a person who has had a SCA only has to open the electrode pads by pulling down on the handle of the AED pad encasement. A handy visual aid is included on each pad to show the proper placement on the SCA victim. The brilliancy of Philips HeartStart Onsite Adult SMART AED Pads is how they’re designed to be ‘smart’. Philips HeartStart pads have the ability to sense when they’ve been removed from their casing and hooked up to a person.
Philips Heartstart Replacement Pads Specs
Philips HeartStart replacement pads come with a 2-year shelf life. All AED pads have an expiration date and need to be replaced, even if a SCA has not happened. In the case that a SCA does happen, the AED pads need to be immediately replaced. It’s suggested to store an additional set of Philips M5071A HeartStart pads next to your AED machine in case the primary pair loses adhesion. It’s not uncommon for victims of a SCA to produce large quantities of perspiration.
Philips HeartStart Onsite Adult SMART AED pads are designed for SCA victims 8 years or older or over 55 pounds. The HeartStart AED requires children younger than 8 years old or less than 55 pounds to use Philips HeartStart Onsite Infant/Child SMART Pads (M5072A) in case of a SCA.
