The G5 IntelliSense lithium battery carries a four-year operational guarantee alongside a four-year stand-by life in the AED, so the cover period and the service life line up instead of leaving a gap at the end. It is non-rechargeable. The pack also feeds the G5's Rescue Ready indicator — the device self-tests battery, pads and internal circuitry and reports a single visible status, so a failing battery is flagged well before it matters.

The reason for the loss of two stars: These things have a useful life of two years, which is understandable, given the nature of the product, and the necessity of adhesives (for the skin) to not be dried out. I'm OK with that. The problem is that the two adult pad replacements I ordered on 6/20/24 have an expiration date of 12/19/25. I lost 25% of the useful life of the product...before I even received it.
