Energy Delivery

Biphasic truncated exponential waveform with voltage and duration compensation for patient impedance. Energy is user-configurable from 150 J to 360 J, defaulting to 200 J / 300 J / 360 J, then 360 J for every shock after. Charges 200 J in under 9 seconds and 360 J in under 15 seconds.

CPR Feedback

cprMAX technology lets responders perform pre-shock CPR while the device charges, with a configurable CPR countdown timer on the display.

Pediatric Mode

Infant/Child reduced-energy electrodes cut the selected energy by a factor of 4, intended only for children up to 8 years old or 55 lbs (25 kg).

Battery & Pad Life

The nonrechargeable lithium battery carries a 5-year standby life; a rechargeable lithium-ion battery is also available. REDI-PAK electrodes ship pre-connected.

Is the LIFEPAK 1000 Too Much AED for a Public Building?

Usually yes, and that is not a criticism of the device. The LIFEPAK 1000 is specified for professional responders: energy user-configurable from 150 J to 360 J, manual override for advanced users, and an optional 3-lead ECG display for crews who will actually read a rhythm. cprMAX technology lets the team perform pre-shock CPR while the device charges, with a configurable countdown timer on the display. It is drop-tested to MIL-STD-810F on every corner, edge, and surface from one metre, rated IP55, and it weighs 7.1 lbs, roughly three times a HeartSine. For fire, EMS, law enforcement, and industrial rescue teams that is the right trade. For an untrained office or school responder, the manual override and ECG display are capability nobody will use, and the weight works against a fast retrieval. Charge time is under 9 seconds at 200 J and under 15 seconds at 360 J. The battery carries a 5-year standby life, and the warranty is 5 years.
