CPR Uni-padz replace the two-inventory problem with a single electrode set that treats both adults and children. Instead of stocking Pedi-padz alongside adult pads at every site and tracking two expiration dates, you stock one part and activate child mode on the device, which drops energy to 50 J, 70 J, and 85 J. Across a multi-site program that is one fewer thing to get wrong at inspection. The AED 3 also shows Real CPR Help live on a color bar gauge, measuring depth from 0.75 in to 4 in, with a CPR cycle timer on the touchscreen. Adult energy is 120 J, 150 J, and 200 J, charging in under 10 seconds. Fully automatic units deliver the shock after a 3-second countdown, with a pre-shock pause under 8 seconds on a new battery. The reason for the loss of two stars: These things have a useful life of two years, which is understandable, given the nature of the product, and the necessity of adhesives (for the skin) to not be dried out. I'm OK with that. The problem is that the two adult pad replacements I ordered on 6/20/24 have an expiration date of 12/19/25. I lost 25% of the useful life of the product...before I even received it.
