Philips OnSite Infant Child AED Pads are for use with the Philips
HeartStart OnSite Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Recommended
for places where children gather, the OnSite pediatric AED pads, or
infant child AED pads, reduce the energy delivered to the patient.
CPR/AED guidelines recommend that infant child pads be used with the AED
if the child is 8 years of age or younger, or if the child weighs less
than 55 lbs. Philips OnSite Infant Child AED pads meet these
requirements. Children do not suffer from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) as
often as adults do, but it is estimated that nearly 4% of all SCA
victims are children under the age of eight. If you run a daycare
facility, work in an elementary school, or belong to a church with
children’s programs, it is important to include these smaller, younger
American citizens in your AED program. An important item to remember in
regards to AED pads, is that, like AED batteries, they have a shelf life
and will eventually expires. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct
regular maintenance inspections on all the components of your AED unit
and make sure that you have extra Philips OnSite Infant Child AED pads
on hand for your HeartStart OnSite defibrillator.
