Phyllis Lane, the school nurse at Union High School in Rose Hill, NC feels incredibly fortunate as she reflects on May 17, 2018. That was the day Cameron Burley went down with Sudden Cardiac Arrest while playing basketball in gym class.
Phyllis had just returned from sick leave when she received a call that she was urgently needed in the gym. As she arrived on scene, she found that Cameron was unconscious and not breathing. Phyllis had someone call 911 right away and knew Cameron needed immediate treatment with CPR and an AED.
