Why is my Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 Beeping?

Oftentimes, the device is beeping due to the pads or batteries expiring. If the device’s pads and batteries are within their expiration dates but the rescue-ready indicator is still red, we recommend calling ZOLL’s (the company that bought out Cardiac Science) technical support team.

Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 Shelf Life?

The battery has a 5-year shelf life calculated from the ‘Manufactured on Date’. For example, if the battery’s MoD is January 1, 2020,  the battery will be operable until January 1, 2024.

Are After-Market Batteries Available?

After-market and ‘re-celled’ batteries do exist, but AED Brands does not sell them nor recommend them.

For a myriad of reasons, after-market batteries are a potentially dangerous option. Yes, they often cost less but do not have FDA approval or a manufacturer guarantee.

Using non-approved batteries voids the device’s warranty and removes the manufacturer’s indemnification, potentially putting the owner at risk of a lawsuit in the event the machine is deployed. There is never a time we would recommend using after-market supplies for a medical device.

Determine the Battery's Expiration Date

The Cardiac Science Powerheart Lithium Intellisense Battery XBTAED001A does not display an “Expiration Date” but instead displays a “Manufactured on Date”.
