EMS Notification

Any person who owns or leases an AED shall notify the department and the person’s regional ambulance service or first responder service of the existence, location, and type of device the person possesses.

Maintenance Program

Must maintain and test the device in accordance with the applicable standards of the manufacturer

Notification of Use

A person using an AED shall be certain that emergency personnel have been summoned by calling 911.

Requires commissioner of education to inform school administrations about resources regarding CPR and the use of AEDs. Also requires the commissioner to provide reports containing data of schools that are offering CPR and AED instruction.

the Good Samaritan protection by removing the training requirements and
removes the requirement to maintain a relationship with a physician to
provide technical assistance and consultation regarding the AED use.

Provides requirements and immunity for use of an automated external defibrillator.
