An AED program consists of a medical emergency response that includes basic and advanced first aid, CPR, and emergency defibrillation. The goal of the early defibrillation program is to participate actively in the chain of survival, illustrated below, by providing early defibrillation to any victim of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
