A bill to establish the criteria for the developing and implementation of an AED program and to provide a curriculum that will allow non-hospital emergency workers to be trained on the use of AEDs.

Requirements
Physician
Must have physician’s prescription.
CPR/AED Training
The user of the defibrillator must receive appropriate training in the use of the defibrillator as established by the Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure.
EMS Notification
A person acquiring an automated external defibrillator shall notify the local emergency medical service of the existence, location, and type of the defibrillator and of any change in the location of such defibrillator unless the defibrillator was acquired for use in a private residence, a health care facility, or a health care practitioner facility.
Maintenance Program
The defibrillator must be maintained and tested according to the manufacturer's guidelines.Good Samaritan Protection
