Automated External Defibrillator IP Ratings

IP ratings, also known as ingress protection ratings, are a standard of measurement that shows the degree of environmental protection an electronic device has from dust and water. The higher the IP number an AED has, the greater the dust and water protection. If an AED has an X rather than a number, it means that the defibrillator has not been rated in that category. The chart below shows what each number means and shows a graphical representation of the size of dust or solid object particles the AED is protected against, as well as the types of moisture it can withstand. To view IP ratings for each AED, simply go to the AED product comparison feature on our home page.
