The Medtronic LIFEPAK 500 AED Battery, just like all
batteries, has a finite shelf life and will eventually run out of power.
Having one or two replacement automated external defibrillator (AED)
batteries on hand makes sense for the success of your AED program. Being
caught in a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergency without an AED would
be bad, but being caught with an AED with a dead battery would be
devastating and inexcusable.
That’s why AED brands carries the Medtronic LIFEPAK 500 AED Battery; we want you to be prepared. This long-life disposable lithium battery requires less maintenance than other batteries and never requires recharging. This battery has a shelf life of about 5 years but as with all batteries, it will self-discharge over time. Therefore, it is important to note when the battery was purchased and when it is installed in your LIFEPAK 500 AED unit. Generally, this Medtronic AED battery will last for 14 hours of on time or 312 full discharges. The minimum capacity is 230 full discharges.
Make sure that you always have a fully charged, working AED battery on hand. Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time, and anywhere. An automated external defibrillator will not work if its battery is dead. Don’t let an SCA victim suffer from brain damage or even sudden cardiac death by not having working AED batteries on hand.
Alternate Part Numbers: 11141-000147, 3208231-000, 3005380-026, 11141-000013
